For Advocates and Professionals
I am intrigued about this supported, independent living thing you’re doing. I wonder if any of my clients might be good candidates for this kind of residential option?
I heard that The Serving Cup has had some success with supported, independent living projects. How did you pull it off? Can I find (or build) one near me?
A large percentage of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities receive some kind of support services from an outside agency or provider. These professionals help their clients with things from managing their schedule to providing transportation to job coaching. These professionals get to know their clients very well and can provide valuable insight to discern whether the adult that they work with is a good match for a supported living community.
Many professionals advocate not only on behalf of their clients, but also for better options for the entire disabled population.
The Serving Cup would love to learn more about what professionals and advocates are doing in your communities, and if there are supported living options in your area. Perhaps we can help support you as you work to develop one in your community!
We’d love to talk with you. Please fill out our Contact Form so we can be in touch.
